Thomas Hill Standpipe

Yesterday I went to Thomas Hill Standpipe.

The Thomas Hill Standpipe is only open to visitors four times a year- once for every season. So, it was a big event among the community. Over 1,000 people came to walk up the spiraling staircase inside the standpipe to see the view.

It was neat to be able to see the towns that I have been traveling through from a different point of view. And to see the mountains, some of them being 100+ miles away. I saw Bald Mountain in Dedham, Sugarloaf Mountain in Rangeley and Mount Katahdin in Millinocket – just to name a few.

It was a great experience to have a different and new experience of a place I thought I knew.
