Owen Smith, Director of IMFA to Speak at ICA Oct. 6
Owen F. Smith, Director of the Intermedia MFA program at the University of Maine will be speaking at the ICA in Portland on Intermedia as part of the panel discussion sponsored by Portland Ovations. Titled Post-Performance Lecture: Inter-media Panel Discussion and presented on October 6th from 4-5:30 this panel is being presented in conjunction with the work titled VOYEUR by Bridgman|Packer Dance being performed on Friday and Saturday October 5 and 6th. VOYEUR is a new dance/film work by award-winning choreographers Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer and inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper and commissioned by Portland Ovations. This panel features Daniel Fuller (Director, ICA at MECA), Owen Smith (New Media Director of Intermedia MFA, University of Maine), Ling-Wen Tsai (Associate Professor of Sculpture, MECA) and the visiting choreographers in an examination of the relationship between dance, visual, and media arts.
