Adele Drake

Adele Drake grew up in Philadelphia and attended classes at the Barnes Foundation, Moore College of Art (art teacher certification), Gettysburg College (BA) and the University of Pennsylvania( MFA). Currently she is taking courses at the University of Maine’s Intermedia Department and is on a path to becoming a PHD candidate. Drake moved to Maine in 2002 and has spent many years making oil paintings of the Maine Landscape. In addition to painting Drake continues to explore the materials and methods found in an intermedial approach to making art. In addition to being a practicing artist Adele has taught art in the Philadelphia Public Schools as well as in Maine at Waterfall arts, Husson University, Leonard Middle School and Hampden Academy. She has participated in group shows in Rockland Maine, Bangor Maine and had a one person show at the Maine Farmland Trust gallery in Belfast, Maine.
