Amy Stacey Curtis to kick off Tuesdays at the IMRC

On Tuesday, September 13th, installation artist and University of Maine faculty member Amy Stacey Curtis will kick off Tuesdays at the IMRC, the UMaine Intermedia MFA visiting artist lecture series.

In 1998, Amy began an 18-year journey and commitment to her work and to interactive art with the initiative to complete nine solo-biennial exhibits that began in 2000. This year the journey will complete Amy will have installed 81 large-in-scope interactive installation works in nine mill spaces in eight different Maine towns. Amy completed her first biennial, EXPERIENCE (2000) in the Bates Mill Complex, with the intention to return to Lewiston for her last biennial, to take place this year. The completion of each exhibit is a 22-month long process, each exploring a different theme and requiring audience participation to compete the perpetuation of their multiple installations. MEMORY, Amy’s final exhibition will be take place in the 30,000 square foot Bates Mills Complex in Lewiston later this fall as originally planned over a decade ago.
