The way that art can convey a narrative: Artist Sheridan Kelley Adams to present her work

Sheridan Kelley Adams is a new media artist whose work focuses on the potential of individual stories and the way that art can convey a narrative. The stories that she seeks to tell are not shared through traditional means. Adams states, “I seek to initiate a conceptual narrative that provides the opportunity for inferential meaning, construed understanding and unforeseen discovery.”

Adams is currently an Instructional Designer at the University of Maine and has also taught in the New Media, Art, and Intermedia departments. With a degree in European History and a minor in Studio Art, from Bowdoin college, she co-founded Knife Edge Productions LLC, a production company that specializes in video and design work. She has produced presentations, media content and videos for local, national and international projects, and has worked with hundreds of clients and organizations through her entrepreneurial efforts.  Her creative work includes video installations, animations, and documentary film.

Adams will present her work on Tuesday, February 16th at 7:00pm as a part of Tuesdays at the IMRC, a visiting artist lecture series that is part of the Intermedia MFA program at UMaine. This presentation is free and open to the public and will take place at the IMRC Center on the University of Maine campus in Orono.

Tuesdays at the IMRC is sponsored by the UMaine Intermedia MFA and New Media Departments, the UMaine Cultural Affairs/Distinguished Lecture Series, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Correll Professorship in New Media.
