Bangor Public Library Seeks Area Artists

The Bangor Public Library invites area artists and groups to submit applications to exhibit their art in the Lecture Hall, Stairwell Gallery or other library exhibit spaces in 2013. Qualifying exhibits may be comprised of works of professional artists, crafts people, and community groups and students; historical or educational artifacts; or informational materials from city and state agencies, schools and non-profit groups who wish to publicize their organizations and activities. Participating artists and groups are asked to complete an art exhibit application, submit five copies of examples of their work, and send these items to the library by October 19, 2012. All applications will be reviewed by an Art Committee made up of volunteer artists, who live and work in the Bangor area. This committee will select displays for each month of next year. All applicants will be notified with the library’s decision in November 2012.

Interested parties may find a link to the exhibition form on the library’s webpage, or they may ask staff to mail a copy out to them. Please direct all inquiries to Elizabeth A. Stevens, Bangor Public Library, 145 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine 04401.
